About

Friday Verve

noun

A feeling or state of confidence, excitement, and youthful exuberance.

Friday Verve is a leather accessory brand created by Holly Johnson from Brisbane, Australia. Our focus is on the design of unique and creative styles without compromising the effortlessness, versatility, and wearability of an everyday handbag. With each style made in small quantities using genuine leather, we aim to promote a slow-fashion lifestyle for those who value quality over quantity.

A note from Holly:
In the pursuit of finding the perfect black mini-bag in 2017, my idea to create Friday Verve was born. The vision was inspired by my dream items that I wished were on the current market and decided to design them myself. From the initial prototype in 2018, Friday Verve has evolved into a curated collection I'm endlessly excited to share with others. I work closely with the production team to ensure each piece is high-quality and I trial each design to ensure it wears well over time. Detachable straps and neutral tones are a prominent feature in my designs, as they offer more styling opportunities. Equally important to me is the concept of individuality and creativity in design. I value the idea of wearing something unique and creatively crafted, far removed from the mass-produced styles that saturate the market. Friday Verve encapsulates these values, offering you the opportunity to wear something distinctive while still investing in an easily interchangeable wardrobe staple.

Why leather? – It's important to me that I can purchase fewer, high-quality items in my lifetime rather than needing to re-purchase items and send old items to landfill. While there have been some great breakthroughs in the production of imitation leathers, I have found that the quality of these materials does not come close to the quality of genuine leather. It's also important to me that I am responsibly designing my items by sourcing leather as a byproduct of the meat industry, not using leathers from exotic or endangered species, and repurposing leather cut-offs to minimise wastage in the production process. I will definitely experiment with other high-quality materials in the future, so please stay tuned if this interests you!

Upcoming styles? – I'll be releasing products in small quantities and have a lot of ideas in mind for upcoming styles. Stay tuned!
